Quakers in unprogrammed meetings use silence to encourage stillness in order to attend to the inner life of the spirit. If someone is moved to speak about that inner life, the group can listen closely, then ponder the words as they apply to their own lives.
All are welcome as seekers and as visitors. Please call for information, directions, transportation, as needed. Many people discover their spiritual journey is enhanced by the [mostly] quiet, shared time spent together.
The Testimonies of Friends include Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, Equality and Unity with Nature. People of all faiths or none share these values; Quakers believe in living their lives in the Light of these testimonies.
Quaker William Penn said, “True godliness doesn’t draw men out of the world, but enables them to live better in it.” He added, “It is reproach to religion and government to suffer so much poverty and excess.”
